Atty. Hocson rejoined DRHV after serving for the last two years as Assistant Secretary of the government’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) where he supervised the Consumer Welfare & Trade Regulations Group, and at least seven bureaus and offices directly under the DTI.
Even before joining the DTI, among the partners, Atty. Hocson was the most conversant of the ins and outs of government regulatory work. He has had stints as Legal Counsel or Consultant with the Laguna Lake Development Authority, Department of Transportation and Communications, The Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board and for the offices of Senator Ramon Magsaysay and Representative Jacinto Paras for whom he did specialized research and drafted bills and resolutions for such legislators on issues related to Agriculture, National Resources, Environment, Information Technology, Transportation and Communications. At DRHV, Atty. Hocson is at the forefront of the Firm’s involvement in Philippine development consultancy projects that are funded by foreign governments and international multi-lateral organizations, related to issues and concerns on water as an important resource and the environment in general.
